Family Fun

We did have a great day. It was so nice to have a day off together where we could go do something. The only day we have off together is Sunday. So this was a real treat. First off, we went up Provo Canyon and went on a hike! Man I am not used to hikes. But it was so fun. The trail ends in this meadow in the middle of the mountains. It was so pretty. And of course we took the dogs with us. They had a blast running around in the meadow. It was Koda's first time on a hike and he really liked it. We defiantly wore them out. We went back home when we were done to drop the dogs off. They crashed and went to sleep. Then we went around looking at furniture stores, just for fun. We also got ourselves some presents! We got a video camera and a small point and shoot camera! We have been getting so tired of lugging our big SLR camera where ever we go. So we got a small camera that we can take and put in our pockets. So we spoiled ourselves, but we deserved it. lol.

Also, we had the privilege of having my parents come and stay the night with us this past week. They had dentist appointments in Tooele so they came a day early and hung out with us. We gave them a little tour of our neighborhood. My mom especially liked all the animals we have down the street from us. We went out to dinner with them and had a great time. My mom and aunt will be coming up in June to visit so I am very excited about that.

Also, Jonah and I were called to be in the Nursery! Sunday was our first day. This will be an interesting calling. Jonah is excited about it. He wanted a calling where he could work with the kids. It seems that they always put the couples with no kids in the Nursery. It's like they are trying to make us not want to have kids. Lol. Im'm just kidding. I am excited for this calling and I hope that we can do it well.
I think that is all that is new with us for now. Our next event we are looking forward to is Jonah's birthday!( If you have any ideas let me know.)

On A Happier Note...

I just wanted to tell you about the good part of my weekend. On Saturday, I drove down to Cedar City to meet up with my sister. We were planning a surprise visit for my mom for Mother's Day. My dad was helping keep my mom occupied until he was supposed to bring her to our meeting spot. My mom can be so difficult sometimes. She asks way to many questions. My poor dad did a really good job at not giving anything away though. So anyway, what we did was we bought some pizzas and went to the splash pad up by my parents house. It was me, TaMerra and Darcee. And of course all their kids. Justyn and his family could not be there sad to say. So anyways, we surprised my mom with lunch and presents, and of course US!!! It was so nice to go down for the day to be able to spend some time with my mom for Mother's Day. We all had a lot of fun. After we were done there, TaMerra and I went back to my parents and played a few card games with them until it was time to leave. Although the trip was very tiering, it was well worth it to be able to see my family. I have the best family ever. And I have the best parents in the world. I love my mom with all my heart and miss her all the time. She is the best mom anyone could ever ask for. Thank you mom for everything. I love you!

Here is something different MOM!!!!

So last night was an interesting night. We hit a deer on our way home! It popped up out of no where. Neither of us was hurt. I was freaking out a lot but we are both ok. Now my car on the other hand is not. The deer hit on the passenger side and bashed in our fender, broke our side mirror, shattered our windshield, took off one of our wipers and dented and scratched the hood. I hope this is a big enough change for you mom. At least this blog is not about my dogs. Lol Enjoy the pictures

I have nothing to say.

So I noticed I have not written anything for awhile. That just makes me realize how lame we are. We don't do anything worth writing about. Lol. But here are a few things that we have been up to.
Last Saturday, Jonah did a volunteer project with his work. It was a Comcast Cares Day. They went to a school down in Payson and helped clean the inside and outside. He said that he had a lot of fun. And they got done just in time! It started to rain. We have also seen a very good movie recently. Wolverine. It was really good. And we have discovered something. The Spanish Fork theater is much less crowded than the Provo Towne. We saw it on opening night and the theater was about half full.So I think that we will be going there from now on.
I have four days left on my diet. I have lost 15 pounds so far. We will see what the end results are. It has defiantly been a struggle but it has been worth it.
My mom has been bugging me to put some more pictures of us on here. Once we do something that is worth taking pictures of I will. lol. Unless you want to see pictures of us laying on the couch or going for a walk. That is pretty much all we do. But I will hopefully get some up soon.
My parents will be coming up for a visit in a couple weeks! I am super excited for that! It will be nice to have them around for a couple days.
OHH!!! We did have some excitement on Sunday! The people that used to live in our condo moved to the bottom floor, right underneath us. Well I guess someone there stopped breathing or something. We had ambulances and police cars all up and down the street. It was pretty intense to watch.
And can I just say something. I hate it when pregnant women SMOKE! A lady in the same condo that had the incident is pregnant and she is out on her porch smoking about 4 times a day at least. It makes me sick. That poor kid does not even have a chance. People can be so stupid sometimes

HE'S HERE!

Colten Gregory Higgins is finally here! He was born Sunday April 26, 2009. He was 7lbs 4oz. He was born around 2:30pm I believe. TaMerra knows for sure so sorry if I am getting any of this wrong. I am so excited to see him! I hope that I will be able to get down there soon. So that evens up the numbers of nieces and nephews on my side of the family. We now have four of each. I guess we will have to see if TaMerra is going to have another kid. If not I guess mine will be the next in line. I believe everyone else is done having kids.
The weather here is getting to be a little nuts. It snowed again on Sunday. So much for having a Spring.
My diet is going well. It is starting to get a little easier, even though Jonah is always tempting me with sweets. According to my scale I have lost almost 12 pounds. But I will find out tomorrow for sure what the real number is. I am very excited.
I was able to go visiting teaching yesterday and it was a lot of fun. I have a great companion who is very nice and giving. She is a wonderful lady. The ladies that I teach are very sweet as well and I am very excited to get to know them.
Jonah did a volunteer thing with his work. It was called Comcast Cares. They went to a school in Payson and helped clean it up, inside and out. He said that he had a lot of fun. And the good thing is, is they got done right before it started to rain. Lol. But he had a lot of fun volunteering and helping out.
So that is a little update from us. Sorry we don't have more going on. We can be pretty lame :)

Home on The Range

So this past weekend I was able to go to St George and participate in the fun family activities. I was able to spend Easter with my extended family, which was a real treat. I was so grateful that I was able to spend time with them. The only thing that would have made it better is if Jonah would have been able to come with me. Unfortunately he had to stay home and work. But he was nice enough to let me go and see my family. He is way to good to me. But I had an awesome time with all my family and I am grateful for all that they do for me. I love them all more than I may let them know. I also brought Koda down with me so that Jonah would not have to deal with both of them while I was gone. Koda stayed at my sisters house. They also have a puppy that Koda got to play with. I think that they had a lot of fun together....and got into some trouble as well. They chewed up a dirty diaper that my sister had left on the floor, and they dug the the dirt out of her plants. Man they were asking for it. Its a good thing that Jason is patient with them, otherwise my sister may have lost it. :) But they had a lot of fun playing with our puppy, but I do think that he is glad to be home. The vacation took a lot out of him. He has been sleeping ALOT. I came home from St George on Sunday and was able to spend Sunday night with Jonah. We didnt do anything for Easter but it was nice to be able to come home to him and spend time with him.

~Puppy Love~

So since we have no kids yet, you get to hear stories about our dogs. Aren't you lucky. Koda and Reign are getting along just fine. It is nice to see that they are not biting each others heads off. We try to keep them separated when we are not home so that they don't bond to much to each other rather than us.

Koda is growing so fast! We have only had him for 2 1/2 weeks and he is grown so much in that time. Soon he will be bigger than Reign. Hopefully we will have him trained before he gets big enough to eat us. Lol.

Koda seems to have a problem with barking. We have been blessed to have a dog that does not bark at all. Koda does not bark to much but it is more than we would like. lol. Most people would say that he is very good at not barking for a puppy, but hopefully we can get him to where he doesn't do it at all.

We have been having a blast spending time with our puppies though. We are very happy with our little family. People always ask us if we have kids yet, We say "no, but we have two dogs." They reply saying, " well that is close enough." Lol.
As for me and Jonah, we have been a little under the weather lately. Jonah took the past two days off of work, hoping that it would help him recover quicker. But he has yet to start feeling better. I started feeling sick a few days after he did. So we are just two sick kids who stay home all night and watch movies in bed. Sorry that we are so boring and have nothing new to report.....OH WAIT!!!! We finally got our taxes done!!!! YAY. We went to H&R block and had them do it. I loved it. I hated trying to do my taxes myself, or try to have someone explain it to me how to do it. Its much less of a headache to have someone who knows what they are doing do it for you. Especially this year since we had all the stuff for Jonah's real estate, the tax credit for 1st time home buyers, and our condo.
I also will be going to Cedar City on Saturday to give my sister a baby shower. I hope that everything goes ok. Im not the best party planner so if your coming, don't expect much......Til Next Time!!

BATH TIME!

So here is Koda taking a bath! Since the potty training is still underway, he spends a lot of time in the bath. Its hard to believe he is as skinny as he is. When he is dry he looks like a big poof ball, but once you get him wet he shrinks down to nothing.

Mis Hap

So we had our first real messy mis hap the other day. We are trying to potty train Koda. We have a big crate but we wanted a smaller one so that if he went to the bathroom in it he would not be able to get away from it. So we borrowed a smaller crate from someone. Well.....that did not work so well. We left Koda in the cage while we went to work and we put Reign on the balcony. Jonah went home on his lunch break to check on the puppy and was hit with a wall of stench! He went to get Koda out of his cage and saw that Koda, along with his cage, was covered in dog poop!!! Jonah took him straight to the bathroom to give him a bath. So we are not going to use the small cage from now on. He will just have to learn that he goes outside. I dont have a problem if he pees in the cage. That doesn't smell as bad as when he poops. But we will see how this potty training goes. The good news is, is we think that Koda is starting to warn up to us a little bit. We took him outside with Reign and he started to play around with us a little bit. But he still has some things to get used to. He still would rather huddle in a corner than come be with us. But we are working on it. Slowly but surely.

New Addition!! Welcome Koda!

I would like to introduce you to the newest member of our family. This is Koda. We picked him up yesterday. He is 11 weeks old and is so cute! He is scared to death right now. He is really nervous. I can understand that cause we just took him from his family so he must be going through a lot. He is a Great Pyrenees. Sorry the pictures are off my phone. I took them on the car ride home. Hopefully I will be able to get some pictures of BOTH our puppies on our good camera and share those with you.

Anxiety Plus

K so here is the update on what has been happening with me. I have been to the doctor numerous times to find out what is wrong with me. It turns out that I am having anxiety problems. Don't ask me where they came from. I know that I worry about a lot of things, but lately I have not been worried about anything....at least that is what I thought. I will be sitting down relaxing, and all the sudden I will start to freak out. I don't know where it is coming from. I have been trying to do stuff to help calm me down but I have not found anything that really helps me yet. So for now, I am on some medicine to help calm me down. Prozac for more of an everyday medicine, and Lorazapam for when I have really bad episodes and can't get anything else to calm me down. Hopefully I will be able to get something figured out and get this fixed. I don't want to have this hanging over my head all the time. It is not a good feeling to be freaking out about something and there is nothing I can do about it. And people are telling me to calm down. Trust me if I could make this go away I would. This is not something that I want to deal with. I will let you know if anything new happens.
As far as Jonah and I go, things are going well. We are taking our sweet time getting everything unpacked. Mostly we just need to hang our decorations up. We are a pretty boring couple. We sit at home and watch tv or play on the computer. There is really not much else to do. I am excited that it is starting to warm up. I am sure that we will be more up for taking Reign for long walks if the weather keeps getting better.
I was thinking last night about all that is going on in the world, and I couldn't help but be so grateful that Jonah and I have been as fortunate as we have been. We have a nice home, food on the table, and are able to pay for the things that we need to. This is a hard time for many people. I only wish that we were in a better situation only so that we could help out our friends and family that are having a hard time right now. But we are grateful that we have what we do and that we are so blessed. We want you to know that we love you all and we are very grateful to have you in our lives.

Sick

So I have been sick for the past few weeks. I have been having a really hard time breathing. I try really hard to get that deep breath and I just can't get it. I went to the doctor and he said it could be one of three things: A blood clot, hyperventilation, or something else I can't remember. Well he concluded that it was hyperventilation (panic attacks). I have no idea what brought these on. But I guess my body is a lot more stressed than I ever thought it was. Things with my breathing have been getting better, but a couple days ago, my right leg started to get numb and tingly. It seems that when I get sick, I get a whole bunch of things all at once. So hopefully things will start to get better soon. We were down in St George this weekend and I was able to ask my dad and Jonah to give me a blessing. It was so nice. It was Jonah's first blessing and I am so glad that I was the one to receive it. I felt very special. And I am grateful to have a husband with the priesthood that is able to give me blessings when I ask for them. Thank you Jonah
Anyways so I will post about our St George trip in a little while when I get some pictures uploaded.

Great News!

Mosts of you may know this already, but there has been a good change of plans. We are going to be moving into our condo next week! most likely on Friday! We are very excited. The tenants that are there now have some health problems. There was a bottom unit in our building that became available for rent so they asked if it would be ok to move out early. We were so happy to hear that. So the past few days we have been trying to get some stuff packed up. I hate the packing up process. Everything is so unorganized and messy. It drives me nuts, and I am sure that I am driving Jonah crazy too. But he is good to put up with me. He has figured out that I get a little frustrated when things are not cleaned up. The funny thing is, is I never used to be this way. I think it is just with it being our own place, I want it to look nice when people come over. But anyways!! So if anyone doesn't have anything to do on Friday you are more than welcome to come help. We could use it.

I Am Grateful

So lately I have found myself thinking about all the things that I am grateful for, more than I usually do. So I wanted to share them with you.I am so blessed to have a wonderful family. My parents are more than I could ever ask for. They have always been there for me, supporting me in everything that I do. They raised me with the greatest love there is and taught me to love everyone.I am grateful for my brother. He has been an example to me for so long, weather he knows it or not. I know that if I ever need anything that he will do whatever he can to help me.I am so thankful to have a big brother who has been able to be an example for me and help me when I need it. I am thankful for my sisters. Darcee has always been someone that I can talk to, and sometimes that is all that I have needed. TaMerra has been the same way. She has been there for me when I have needed someone to talk to. I have always wanted to be like her. She is smart, kind, strong in the church, and a loving mother and wife. I only hope that when the time comes for me to take on the role as a mother that I can learn a few things from her. I am very thankful that my brother chose a wonderful woman to marry. I could not ask for a better sister in law. She is always fun to talk to. She has been so nice to me. I would not have had my dream wedding without her and I will always be thankful for that. She to is a great mother and wife and I hope that I will be able to learn from her when the time comes. She is so easy to love and talk to. I am grateful for all my nieces and nephews. They are a crazy fun bunch and I would not have it any other way. The love of a child is one of the greatest things in the world and I am lucky enough to be able to share that with 7 (soon to be 8) wonderful kids. Each of them is one of Gods miracles. I am also grateful for my grandparents and inlaws. All of whom have helped make me a better person. I love them. But what I am most grateful for is my loving husband. We have only been married a short time, but I could not ask for anything more. He is my life. He is such a strong man and always encourages me to be myself and do what makes me happy. He is the most understanding and accepting person I know. I am so blessed that he chose me to spend the rest of eternity with. I love him with all my heart. I also want to say that I am grateful for all of my extended family, and that I am able to be so close to them. A lot of people are not very close with their families. I am lucky to be able to have that. And I am grateful that I get to be with them all forever, and that I get to see the ones that have past on again.
There are a lot of small things that I am grateful for, but since this is long enough and most of you have stopped reading already, I will only name a few. I am grateful for my sight, my smell, my ability to walk and talk. There are so many that live without these things. I feel so blessed that I have them. I am grateful for the changes in weather and that we get to experience so much. I love walking outside and looking up at the sky. I am grateful for my job. I work with a lot of great people and I am so happy that I get to me a part of this work family. I am grateful for the apartment that we live in and that we are able to have a roof over our heads and food to eat. We are so blessed. More than we realize. I am so thankful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Without it, I would not be where I am today. I know that the church and the gospel bring me happiness and blessings beyond my comprehension. I love all of my friends and I will always treasure you. I am blessed to have known and befriended so many wonderful people. I love you all.I encourage all of you who read this to post the things that you are grateful for and let others know of the blessings you have.

Home Owners

Its official. We got our condo. We signed all the papers on Friday, which was not as bad as I thought it would be. The loan is going to fund tomorrow since today is a holiday. But we are all set. Now we can't move in til the beginning of July but that is ok. The tenants will basically be paying our mortgage for us. I am ok with that. Lol. So only about 4 1/2 more months and we can move in. That is the new exciting event that has happened in our life.
Jonah has really been enjoying his job. He has been getting a lot of overtime with it as well which is god for us. My work has been really slow. Hopefully we will be able to pick up soon.
Last night I started having some serious back pain. It came out of the blue. I dont know what is wrong, but I am ready for it to be over with.

Catch Up

So Jonah and I are still trying to buy our condo. Our lender called us and said that we might be able to close on it a week early. That would be great if that was the case. We are really wanting to get this over with. Lol.
So the other day night, Jonah and I brought in a bag of chocolate from my car that my mom had given us. We set it on the coffee table in our front room and didn't think anything of it. The next day I came home for lunch and saw the empty chocolate bag on the kitchen floor. I called Jonah and asked him if he had taken all the chocolate to work with him. He said no. So the only other option is....Reign. Our dog ate a 10 oz. bag of chocolate....aluminum and all!!! We were pretty upset, and worried at the same time. He seems to be doing ok. We think that he had a stomach ache for a while cause he would not stop whining, but I think that he is doing better now. Maybe he will learn his lesson this time.
So Sunday I had to play the piano in Primary. Everything was all over the place if you know what I mean. No one really knew what they were doing, and apparently they have two choristers and two piano players. The lady that was the chorister was not the lady I had been talking to about songs. SO!!!!! I had to play a whole bunch of songs that I didn't know and hadn't practiced. Yay for the right hand! Lol. Luckily there are only three kids in our Primary... Its not like they sing anyway....The only one that was singing was the chorister. Lol.So we will see how it goes next week.
Last night we had the privilege of having Jared and Olivia come hang out at our place. We made dinner for them and they brought some games to play. We had a blast playing Clue and Apples to Apples. I have not laughed that hard in a while. We are really blessed to have such great friends.
Jonah starts his first official day of work today. He will be out installing on his own. He is no longer in training! He is really nervous but he is excited with all the stuff that he has learned. He is very proud of his job.
So I think that that is all we have been up to lately. Sorry we are not very exciting. Lol

December in a recap.

So We have been Pretty busy this month with Christmas and birthdays and what not. Sorry that it has taken me so long to post these pictures but at least I got it done. The week before Christmas we went to St George for a Christmas Party and we got to make ginger bread houses. So I have a few pictures from our Christmas party. This was my first Christmas away from my family, but it was my first one with my husband. So it was a good one. He was nice enough to wake me up at 5:56 AM to wish me a happy birthday. ( 5:56 AM is when I was born. ) He gave me a bear that he got from build a bear. It was in a Broncos outfit!!! Man does my hubby know what I like. I was so excited. So since we were up already we went and opened our presents. We had a pretty good Christmas morning. We went to a movie for my birthday as well and then we came home and I got to open up my birthday presents. So all in all it was a pretty good Christmas. The day after Christmas my parents came up for a visit. They were coming up so that my dad could inspect our condo. So it was nice to be able to see them after Christmas. Enjoy the pictures!! I hope that everyone had a great Christmas! OH!!! Also....My best friend Amanda had a little baby girl on New Years Eve. She is the cutest little girl. When I get some pictures I will see if I can post them. But I am so happy for her.

I can't remember the length, but I cant wait to see him this weekend! I know he is just adorable!! My sister in law is doing just fine as far as I heard. She should be getting released from the hospital today. So I just wanted to share our joy with you. I am an aunt again and Jonah is an uncle. We are very excited to meet him. Temple Square!

So we went to Temple Square with Jared and Olivia and had a lot of fun. It took us forever to find a spot to park but we had a lot of fun. This is us sitting in front of the reflection pool.

This is my cute cold hubby!

And me getting ready to go!
